The Metropolitan Cathedral in Paris hosted a concert for the benefit of restoring the stained-glass windows of the Godoncourt Monastery

The Romanian Orthodox Cathedral “Holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael” in Paris hosted a charity concert on Saturday to support the restoration works of the stained-glass windows at the Godoncourt Monastery in France.
Recitals were performed by Sabina Comici Sabareze on violin, as well as by the young musicians Eva Bătrânu and Juan Luis Jiménez Vînău on piano.
The event was broadcast live on the Apostolia YouTube channel of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe.

“The purpose of this concert is to raise awareness about the needs of the Godoncourt Monastery, especially the restoration needs of the complex, in order to ensure better conditions for the activities we carry out there, both culturally and spiritually,” said Nun Doroteea Ștefanache, the abbess of the monastery, at the opening of the event.
“But the concert also aims to promote young talents. I believe this is sometimes an even more important goal than other material objectives.”
At the end, the Mother Abbess thanked His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph, Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe, who gave his blessing for the event, as well as the partners who contributed to organizing the evening. Among the partners were the “Octav Băncilă” Art High School in Iași and the Romanian Orthodox Cathedral in Paris.
The restoration of the stained-glass windows of the church at the Godoncourt Monastery is part of a project of the French heritage conservation foundation, Fondation du Patrimoine.
